Most sororities have at least one sister of minority status, the "Token Minority," who provides a dynamic change to the traditional homogeneous reality of sorority life. The "Token Minority" often recognizes her role as the ambassador of her respective race, and thereby embraces and exagerrates the commonly-held stereotypes of her people. Perceived to be a robust source of ethnic and racial culture, the "Token Minority" is often used by her white sisters as a counter example to their general real-world ignorance.

Black sisters become the utmost authority on hip-hop music and anything dancing related. They are therefore constantly being consulted by their white sisters when it comes time for a new cheer or for the latest dance moves. Additionally, having a black sister in the sorority allows the other girls to feel like they have some urban flare to spice up their surburban style.

Latino sisters pride themselves on their in-your-face tenacity, often resulting in their role as the "rowdy bitch you don't want to mess with." Furthermore, given their reputation as amazing lovers with a super sexually-charged libido, Latino sisters are a source of advice if the other girls need help pleasing their man or if they're considering anal for the first time.

Finally, the Asian sisters are called in when someone needs the number for a good sushi place... or if they want to learn karate.
